Suzlon receives 50.4 MW order from GSFC

http://suzlon.com/images/suzlon_logo.jpgApril 20, 2011, Pune, India — Suzlon Energy Group, one of the world’s leading and India’s largest wind turbine manufacturer, has announced the signing of an order with Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (GSFC) to set up, operate and maintain wind energy projects totaling to 50.4 MW in Gujarat. GSFC is a leading state Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) in Gujarat in the field of fertilizers and chemicals.

The projects, utilising 24 units of Suzlon’s S88–2.1 MW wind turbine, will be set up in wind farms operated by Suzlon in the Rajkot and Surendranagar districts of Gujarat. This is GSFC’s fifth order with Suzlon and is scheduled for completion and commissioning by September 2011.

The new projects will increase GSFC’s total wind power capacity to 123.4 MW. GSFC currently has existing projects of 73 MW in Gujarat located in the Kutch and Porbandar districts. GSFC’s 10 MW project at Bada village in the Kutch district is the company’s first wind energy project to be successfully registered under the UN Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), earning carbon credits. Reliance Power Reports Positive Q3 FY11 Earning with Rosa Power Plant Firing 105 percent PLF

Reliance Power, the largest private sector power company of India, reported consolidated net profit up 7.5% at Rs 144 crore for Q3, FY11, compared to Rs 134 crore in Q3, FY10. The consolidated other income was Rs 103 crore vs Rs 179 crore YoY.

“Rosa I has stablised and operating at 105% PLF. The company plans to add three new capacities in the next fiscal year. We achieved financial closure on Sasan project last year. And the company is going for refinancing of projects with cheaper foreign debt.” said JP Chalasani, CEO Reliance Power. Read more
